CloudForecast Story: What We Learned Spending 2 Million Annually On AWS150
One word that sums up our journey launching CloudForecast is “uncomfortable”. A lot of our time was spent learning new things that stretched us into “uncomfortable” territory the past 9 months. Anyone launching a new product can relate to making things up on the fly and hoping it works. Google became our best friends with hundreds of search queries on any given topic from “How do I distribute our shares?” to “Why is this CSS element not working?”. It’s been a fun journey finding free tools and teaching ourselves how to build a company. It is no easy task!

The Idea Behind CloudForecast

The idea of CloudForecast came from Kacy and Francois’ extensive experience managing AWS cost at scale during our time at Perfect Audience (YC S11). The question that kept coming up in their heads was, “Why isn’t there an affordable cloud cost management tool for the rest of us?”. We’re confident that CloudForecast can fill this niche and be an indispensable tool for companies using Amazon Web Services that need a second eye on their cloud cost.

Our Vision

We want your team to save money on AWS, and we want to empower you to have all the tools you need to make informed decisions. Cloud cost analysis shouldn’t be hard or expensive. We’re building tools to make cost savings effortless. Your company works hard for their margins. Why should you give a third party a big chunk of that if your goal is to save?

Our Main Objectives

Our vision for CloudForecast is to build a different type of cloud monitoring business, one that focuses on our customers, not on our shareholders (we have none). We believe that every engineering team should have access to the best AWS spend management tool without breaking the budget.
