New features - AWS marketplace cost visibility

We’ve made two improvements to CloudForecast, AWS Marketplace Cost Visibility & “Why?” Drill-down Table re-design

AWS Marketplace Cost Visibility

In the Monthly AWS Financial Report aka our CFO report, we added cost visibility into AWS Marketplace purchases. In the `Overview` sheet, there is a new column that details monthly AWS Marketplace purchases:

In addition, we added a new sheet called `Overview – Marketplace` that gives users a detailed monthly breakdown of all their individual AWS Marketplace Purchases with the following columns:

“Why?” Redesign

The `Why?` link for each Cost Anomaly Forecast Alert in our Daily AWS Cost Monitoring Report is probably one of our most beloved and used features.

"Why?" redesign

AWS Cost Explorer doesn’t eliminate the investigative work needed to discover overspend. With our “Why?” links, users can quickly figure out the reason “Why?” for possible overspending in less than 30 seconds. The feature saves users time by weeding out the noise so they can quickly identify the exact Service, Resource, ResourceID and/or Tag that contributed to an AWS cost increase without the headache.

Since this is one of our most used and liked features, we made small design improvements to make the table fit the whole page for easier navigation. In addition, performance improvements were made to make these pages load 3.5x faster!

If you’re looking for a demo, check out the new interactive demo that we pushed out on our marketing website that showcases our AWS Daily Cost Monitoring Report and our “Why? functionality: CloudForecast Interactive Demo.

That’s all we have for this sprint that we just completed. More improvements coming as our next sprint which will be focused on AWS Data Transfer Cost Visualization and Reporting, Savings Plan Reporting, and a unified approach to slice/dice cost by tags and/or sub-accounts for our CFO report, Daily AWS Cost Monitoring Report, and ZeroWaste optimization reports.
