Migrating to AWS through the Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) involves many moving parts—tracking progress, managing credits, and ensuring everything is tagged correctly. But keeping a handle on your MAP journey shouldn’t be an uphill battle.

That’s why we built CloudForecast’s Free AWS MAP Tracker—to make MAP tracking effortless for you and your team.

What is the AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP)?

AWS Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) is designed to help businesses migrate to AWS with financial incentives, technical guidance, and expert support. As part of the program, AWS provides MAP credits based on the workloads you migrate, helping offset costs and accelerate cloud adoption.

To receive these credits, you need to track migration progress, ensure proper tagging, and stay aligned with Internal and AWS stakeholders—which is often easier said than done.

Challenges with AWS MAP

While AWS MAP offers valuable benefits, tracking your migration progress and credits can be time-consuming and manual. Here are some common challenges teams run into:

  • Internal Alignment – Keeping internal teams and stakeholders updated on MAP progress can be difficult, leading to miscommunication or uncertainty about migration goals.
  • Visibility and Reporting – Both AWS CSMs and customers often struggle with a shared view of MAP progress and credit allocation, resulting in additional manual work on both sides.
  • Tagging Accuracy – MAP credits are only applied if resources are tagged correctly. Misspelled, missing, or incorrectly assigned tags can lead to lost credits and unnecessary headaches.

CloudForecast’s Free AWS MAP Tracker

To make AWS MAP tracking easier and more transparent, we built a free MAP Tracker that automatically pulls in your MAP data and provides clear insights. Here’s what it does:

  • Daily and Monthly Spend Visualizations – See your AWS MAP-tagged spending over time, broken down by product, and track all MAP credits received.
  • Tagging Error Detection – Identify misspelled or missing MAP tags, see associated spend, and pinpoint affected resources.
  • Automated Weekly Reports via Email – Get a weekly summary of your MAP data straight to your inbox. You can also send this report to your AWS CSM or internal stakeholders for better alignment.
  • Simple, No-Hassle Setup – No agents, no complex configurations—just instant visibility into your MAP progress.

We believe tracking AWS MAP progress should be simple, automated, and accessible to everyone, which is why we’re offering this as a free feature for all CloudForecast users.
